Designated Mission
Under the philosophy of Work to Integrate and Make it Smarter, we intend to build an open and diversified platform for communication and cooperation among worldwide experts, scholars and industrial elites in respect of intelligent manufacturing, to promote the development of intelligent manufacturing in view of the new momentum of economic development and the progress of human society.
Previous Edition
On December 6-8, 2016, a World Intelligent Manufacturing Summit was initiated in Nanjing, a city famous for intelligent manufacturing. During the Summit, representatives of world-class academies, associations, and famous colleges, together with industries, exchanged ideas and best practices for promoting intelligent manufacturing, explored cutting-edge technologies, probed common problems in the field, discussed future development prospects and brought about a common will for cooperation and development. The Closing Ceremony of the Summit witnessed the launch of the Cooperative Development Mechanism. Nearly 9000 audiences participated in this event.
Current Edition
The Second Edition of the World Intelligent Manufacturing Summit will be held in Nanjing on December 6-8, and co-organized by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. With reference to the1st Edition, this event will further promote the Cooperative Development Mechanism in accordance with its designated mission. The theme of this Edition will be manufacturing transformation featured in collaboration and innovation. Activities will be organized under three categories of Forum, Carnival and Expo, branded as WIM&WIT. For Forum, representatives from prestigious institutions, famous colleges, leading areas and pioneering companies in intelligent manufacturing are to be invited to give keynote speeches. For Carnival, different players will be encouraged to organize their own activities or to participate in various kinds of programs. For Expo, IM service providers, equipment suppliers, manufacturing enterprises will be expected to showcase their innovative products and services.

WIMS 2016 Overview
WIMS 2016 was held in Nanjing on December 6-8, 2016 with philosophy of Global Vision, National Strategy and Local Practice. The Summit received great support from Chinese Academy of Engineering, German Academy of Engineering, Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering, China Machinery Industry Federation, Germany Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Association of German Industry and other world-famous institutions. In the summit, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China released China Intelligent Manufacturing Development Plan (2016-2020), specifying the two-step development strategy and 10 major tasks by 2025, including accelerating development of IM equipment and enhancing key common technological innovation. As reported, about 9,000 participants from 20 countries and regions joined in the summit. It was well received by the participants and widely reported by the media.
The Expo in conjunction with the Summit, gathered together 285 enterprises from 11 countries and regions including the United States, Germany, Japan, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea, Finland, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong, with an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters. Nearly 40 Fortune 500 companies and world-class institutions showcased the latest IM solutions and equipment. Nearly 100,000 people visited the Expo.
